1.    Higher Education Commission Research Schemes 

          The overarching objective of the Research Fund is in line with the Government decision to promote academic research in all our universities under various research                      schemes. The Schemes, introduced in 2017, are managed by the Higher Education Commission.

          The main objectives of the Research Schemes are, amongst others to:

  1.           (i) Support researchers to indulge in research activities;
  2.           (ii) Contribute to enhance collaboration within and between institutions;
  3.           (iv) Bridge the gender gap that may exist especially in the science and technology-related fields; and
  4.           (v) Encourage researchers to tap external sources of funding, amongst others.

2.    Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC)

 

        The Mauritius Research and Innovation Council (MRIC) is a parastatal, not-for profit organization operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Tertiary Education,                        ​Science and Research. It is the apex body advising Government of the Republic of Mauritius on all matters concerning scientific and technological research and                            innovation issues.

        The MRIC has several schemes that cater for the needs of its stakeholders. MRIC has Special Call for Proposals targeted at specific priority areas based on national                       priorities.
